The children had a fabulous time in the woods today.  Each child was given a craft matchbox to fill with tiny elf or fairy items.  Using their wonderful imaginations they found skateboards, cereal bowls, scarves, baths, footballs and beds.  Some children found target boards used by a local archery club and decided to make up their own games, throwing pine cones at the targets.  A different group of children formed a band and composed some ‘heavy metal’ music (literally).  Other activities included compass and direction skills, bread making, den building AND creating ground pictures, using branches as picture frames.

  1. Thank you Alison. The sessions take a lot of planning and hard work but the delight from the children and their growing love of nature and how to care for wildlife make it all worth while. Experiences we hope that will last a lifetime and help our children care for their environment whatever they do or wherever they choose to be in the future.
