Today, Mr Whiteley visited Bell class to teach us more about algorithms and how to use them to program a Sprite to ask and respond to questions using Scratch.
Children worked in pairs and at their own pace, using the palette to create instructions that then worked.
The children all used their ReflectEd colour tags to understand how they were learning and what they needed to do to become confident. Some children became coaches, recognising that they could explain to others using relevant vocabulary.
Thank you so much for your expertise, Mr Whiteley! Some children were going to continue on their learning at home. A great afternoon!
What a fabulous way of sharing the expertise in school, using our new ReflectEd strategies and Mr Whitely to monitor our KS2 children’s computing skills at the same time.
Thank you.
I hope the Digital Leader Day you’ve planned for the Swaledale Alliance of schools goes well! I know that you’ve a variety of workshops planned for the teachers of ten schools. Applegarth is very proud of your work to help others.
The children in Year 5/6 love using Scratch. It’s one of their favourite activities on a wet playtime!
What an enthusiastic class! The children showed lots of perseverance when trying to create their algorithms!
