SNAG group up and running!

This week our School Council willingly took on an additional responsibility by agreeing to help look into making our school an even healthier place to be. The School’s Nutrition Action Group (SNAG) had their first meeting and discussed a range of issues including healthy playtime snacks, why children might choose a packed lunch instead of a school meal and what opportunities they have to cook and grow food as part of the curriculum. There are exciting times ahead as they prepare to deliver an assembly and conduct a pupil survey about food in school.  Thank you to Ruth Stacey from North Yorkshire’s Food for Life team and Mrs May our school cook who joined us at the meeting.

  1. I’m looking forward to hearing your ideas in assembly. Hopefully more children will be eager to grow food in the gardneing area and around school as the weather improves.
