Children in Y3/4 were debating whether our Queen should be known as a different title this week, as part of their learning about Queen Elizabeth and her 70 year reign. After researching all her good works and how resilient and positive she has always shown herself to be, they decided that she should be known as ‘Elizabeth the Great’ to future generations. They learnt how devoted she has been and how she still continues to carry out her royal duties even in her 90s!
Comparisons were made with Alfred the Great and how different expectations of a monarch existed then and now.
Letters were even written to Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, supporting their views. Well done to all the children, for making their opinions clear and using some super reasons too!
