Galileo, Darwin and Bell classes had a wonderful day today, learning all about Saxon and Viking life from the living history expert, Tanya Bentham. She talked to us as a woman from the past, seeking brave volunteers to dress up, hold the weaponry, weave wool and comparing and contrasting clothing and jewellery over time.
The children came up with some great questions to ask, really inspired by her ferocious Viking impressions and Saxon farmer descriptions.
Children also spent time in classrooms researching weaponry, Saxon jobs, making longhouses and learning about Saxon and Viking burials.Β Β Phew! What a day!
What an exciting day the children had! Tanya really explained to the children the life of Anglo Saxons.
It certainly was a day to remember!
