Cross Country

39 children represented the school at the Town Cross Country Competition today. It’s always an eagerly anticipated event and children look forward to it . This year, 60 children from years 2-6 have been training with Mr Hilton, Mrs Barnbrook and Mrs Hughes to improve fitness and running skills in order to be best prepared for the event.

All of the children ran incredibly well and gave their all to their races. Unfortunately only the first 6 children from each race could go through to the finals at Knayton. They were as follows:

Year 3 – Rainia, Izzy, Jude

Year 4 – Summer, Oliver B

Year 5 – Megan, India, Ellie, Edward

Year 6 – Holly, Sam, James

A special mention to the following children who finished in the top 3 of their races and received a medal for their efforts.

Jude (1st)

Summer (3rd)

Megan (3rd)

Sam (1st)

James (3rd)

  1. It was wonderful to see the Applegarth children supporting each other ( great team spirit) but also taking time to congratulate children from other schools… great representation for Applegarth. Well done all.

  2. A super result. Achieved through hard work, dedication and resilience! All factors that enable us to experience success!
