We’ve had a busy two weeks learning about real life heroes (a mountain rescue volunteer and members of the police and fire service came to visit) as well as learning about fictional superheroes. The children have been learning to create comics, make up their own stories about real-life rescues and responding to a story called ‘Superkid’ by Claire Freedman. Children in Year 1 have been using an APP called Comic Life to create their own comics. Many have also finished a DT project to create moving pictures. They’re very proud of their creations.

The children have done some wonderful work and they are very proud of their moving pictures.
I remember teaching Year one and their love of creating these ‘moving’ pictures. Pop up books at home are great for children to try to learn how these work.
Why not pop down to the library to see if you can build on this learning at home by studying these special books.
