Pupils in Years 3 and 4 had a wonderful time spending the day learning about Ancient Rome. Equipped with their uniform, helmet, spear and shield, the young recruits were put through their paces, learning about the layout of a fort before going on to learn the skills of weapons training (using dummy weapons!), guard duty, craft work, and parade ground drill. Successful recruits were proud to earn their day’s pay and diploma.

Another fabulous video of a great visit. Look out for these on the screen in the school entrance when in school.
Wow what a busy day! Amelie totally did not do this visit justice when all she told me about the day was that the tuna sandwich was delicious.
Mr Searle really enjoyed the day some excellent learning from the children and brilliant historical enquiring questions asked.
