Safer Internet Day 5th February 2019

On Tuesday 5th February we support Safer Internet Day.  The theme this year is:

‘Our Internet, Our Choice: Understanding Consent in a Digital World’

You don’t need to be an expert on the internet to help keep your child stay safe online. There is plenty of advice out there to support you as you support your child to use the internet safely, responsibility and positively.

Do you know the four Cs?

Conduct: children may be at risk because of their own behaviour, for example, by sharing too much information

Content: age-inappropriate or unreliable content can be available to children

Contact: children can be contacted by bullies or people who groom or seek to abuse them

Commercialism: young people can be unaware of hidden costs and advertising in apps, games and websites

Here are 5 top websites that all parents should explore to feel better equipped for the challenges that face our children in the digital world.
