Forest Friday for Honeybees

Honeybees were very excited to be going to the forest on Friday. We remembered all of the rules and were active listeners.

For our first activity, we had to find a stick and use our imagination to decide what it was. Someone had a unicorn horn, a fishing rod for the fairies in the pond, a horse that we can saw “giddy up” to and a bow and arrow along with a magic wand.

We then explored the forest area and used berries to make potions that smelt delicious!  Due to the season we are in, we found lots of autumnal leaves of the ground so we used them to create a hedgehog and owl picture using the leaves. We built our confidence in climbing the tree stumps and logs and learnt that we need to take turns. It was great to see the children work together as a team when someone felt that they were stuck and needed some help.

We have some very friendly chickens who were very interested in us but we know that we need to be gently and quiet around them.

We we had a great time at Forest school and look forward to our next visit.
