This week, Year 5 and 6 have had the best time finding out about a range of different career opportunities. The children have been very inquisitive and have asked some fantastic questions to our visitors. They have learned about different pathways into a range of careers and different qualifications needed for each career we’ve learned about.
We have had visitors from computing backgrounds, the RAF, secondary teaching, a pyschotherapist, a pharmacist, a paramedic, fire fighters, an NHS sister nurse, a policy-maker for the NHS, and a physio therapist for the paralympics and Reverend Claire.
In addition to this, Year 6 have been completing a very special White Rose Maths unit which has helped them focus on their futures. We have learned about annual salaries, hourly rates, income tax, national insurance as wells as the difference between gross pay and take home pay.
