Our first Reading Club session was a real hit with the Year 1 and 2 children. Mrs Hopkin shared the first story of Paddington. We learned about where he came from (Darkest Peru) and how he got his name. We were introduced to the first people Paddington meets when he arrives in London at Paddington station (Mr and Mrs Brown, Judy, Mrs Bird and Jonathon).
We looked back at when Paddington met HRH Queen Elizabeth II earlier this year and share them share a cup of tea and a marmalade sandwich. The children then chose to get creative by drawing and colouring pictures of Paddington.
