What a fantastic way to kick-start Heritage Week this morning. Year 6 (Mrs Hopkin and Mr Edwards’ class) were the first to visit the Records Office this morning. We had a behind-the-scenes tour of some of the archives, including one of the oldest families in Northallerton’s family tree. We even saw the entry in one of the old log books which showed the proposal for the building of our school! We also met Barry Roberts, Chairman of the HMS Hood Association. Barry brought along some amazing artefacts from the HMS Hood which the children loved investigating. He was also a fountain of knowledge and answered so many questions the children had.
