The children in Y1 Bees listened to a story called ‘No-Bot’ by Sue Hendra. The poor robot lost his bottom and the children went off to investigate which kitchen item (jam, honey, syrup, fairy liquid, chocolate spread) would make the best glue to stick the robot’s bottom back to his body. We tore strips of paper in half and ‘glued’ them back together using the different items. The children measured how strong each ‘glue’ was by adding weight (pegs) to the bottom strip. Surprisingly, most children found fairy liquid made a very strong adhesive.

Well this is a first for me! Great way to investigate properties of materials and linking it with your story.
We love this book! A great story by a super author.
I wonder how many children predicted the fairy liquid would be the stickiest ‘glue’ ? What a super investigation!
