Year 5/6 were lucky to have Mrs Ansell’s daughter Lois in school today to talk about her work in the RAF. We found out lots about the different types of roles there are and the duties that she performed during her experience as a WSOp.
The children were very excited and some definitely want to join the Air Cadets when they are older!
What an absolutely fantastic opportunity for our children to learn about Lois’ experiences in the RAF. I spoke to several girls afterwards who hadn’t realised that this was a potential career option for them – they think very differently now!
It seems like yesterday that Lois was in Applegarth as a pupil. It is great for our children to see how your can aspire to many different things. Some may change their mind about their future but as always we would like our children to Aim High… Be happy…Celebrate …Together.
Lois has taken this literally flying high and coming back to school to tell us all about it… TOGETHER.
Our display in the school hall about saving the turtles includes work from another inspirational visitor. Do take the time to stop and look at this work – I know YOU will learn something new too.
