Superheroes vs Professor Slime

We’ve had a lovely week in Bees introducing our Superheroes topic.  The role play area is now a police station, we’ve had children drawing and designing superhero backdrops, some have created imaginary superheroes using computer software, children have dressed up in costume and we have had a terrifying message from Professor Slime who asked the children for help to capture Mrs Goodwin.  Consequently the children have been designing traps and writing down rules to keep Applegarth Primary School a place where everyone looks after and cares for each other.  Mr Renwick very kindly came into class on Friday (as himself) to assure the children that Professor Slime is actually a kind, friendly person with green face paint on.  It didn’t stop the children escorting him into the police station and taking fingerprints from him!

  1. I have never felt so ‘looked after’. A group of Bees children came up to the office this week dressed as members of the police fire to give me good advice on how to keep safe.
They explained how they wanted to make sure that Applegarth was a place where children knew the rules and acted upon them. They were overjoyed when Mr Renwick explained that he had been ‘acting’ and that they could carry on looking after each other and their school.

Thanks for all the super costumes we had Superhero nurses, doctors , physiotherapists as well as policemen and fireman.
