Year 2/3 children were invited to support our local community again as the RAF paraded through Northallerton High Street to mark the 100th anniversary of the formation of the RAF.
The Royal Air Force was formed on the 1st April 1918 when the Royal Flying Corps merged with the Royal Naval Air Service. Troops had travelled from local RAF Leeming and we were all treated to a Hawk fly past!
The event was attended by local dignitaries and the children were impressed to see the Lord Lieutenant of North Yorkshire and other well known faces.
The children all came back with big smiles and tales of what they’d seen!
The children waited patiently for the parade to start. They loved the music and waved enthusiastically.
