This week the children in Year 3/4 ventured out to Northallerton’s Tesco to learn about the produce for sale in the store, where in the world our food comes from, what happens in the Tesco warehouse and which food items belong in the different food groups. They were also treated to a sensory experience; feeling and tasting different fruits. Probably the highlight for many was the opportunity to step into the walk-in fridge and freezer in the warehouse. We’d like to send a huge thank you to Heather, Jon and Lois in the Tesco store. More children will be visiting Tesco tomorrow.
