A new monarch for our Log Book πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

Since our school opened in 1909, it has seen the ascension of five monarchs, the abdication of one and the coronation of three so far! It has been wonderful to delve into our own history to learn about people’s reactions at the time. Pupils largely were given a day or two off on Coronation Day and it is wonderful to read that the National Anthem was sung in the school hall on the news that King George V had ascended the throne before children returned to their classrooms to resume learning in May 1910. We currently have a School Log Book which is updated regularly and there will be more insertions in the pages over the coming weeks, I’m sure.
We hope you love reading about our history as much as we do!
